Many couples when asked about their weddings, of course, came up with beautiful memories that we enjoyed listening to. Apart from those highlights that are close to their hearts, the default statements were “It was an extravagant wedding but don’t remember the intricates as we were too busy playing our part as bride and groom.
We had 1000+ guests, most of them whom we’ve not met once in our life. Booked a dance floor in which we never got to dance, as we were busying posing on stage with those unfamiliar guests. Ordered food of 25+ varieties but never got the chance to eat satisfyingly.
And, this cost a lot of money. A lot!” On top of all this, there were a lot of things that each of them regret not doing and those compromises during their wedding. How long are we going to keep saying that, “one cannot enjoy in his own wedding?” What’s your choice, a grand wedding or a completely home based intimate wedding? Honestly speaking, both are beauties in their own ways. If we notice, there is a pattern in setting trends, the old becomes new and the new becomes old sooner or later. Ages back marriages happened in front of a holy tree, slowly increased the number of people involved in the celebration, then happen to take place in open grounds, followed by closed halls, and then, huge mahals. In 2000, people had a huge craze for air conditioned Mahals, a dream come true especially cities like Madras. Back then, whether or not affordable, many families managed to book these mahals. Fifteen years later, lawn and outdoor weddings became a trend and changed the definition of dream weddings. And, it’s not going to stop there!
While moving the trajectory in this direction, comes the latest trend – Home Made Weddings.
